Sergio Pérez , also known as Checo , began his career in single-seaters in 2004. Three years later he was champion of the British Formula 3 National Class. He debuted in GP2 Series in 2009 and the following year he was runner-up with Addax Team. He made his Formula 1 debut in 2011 with Sauber . In the following season he achieved three podiums and moved to McLaren for 2013. After a season with the British team, he was hired by Force India , which later became Racing Point . In these two, he was on the podium in seven races. In 2020, he achieved the first victory of his career by winning the Sakhir GP, becoming the second Mexican after Pedro Rodríguez to win a Grand Prix. In 2021 he was signed by the Red Bull Racing team. For this new season Checo will once again have Max Verstappen as a teammate, both of whom will be in charge of driving the new RB20 car.
