Moto Guzzi (in Italy also known as Guzzi to dry), is the name of a famous and mythical Italian motorcycle manufacturer, founded on March 15, 1921 by Carlo Guzzi, Giorgio Parodi (aviation pilots assigned to the same squadron in the outside Venice) and the mechanic Giovanni Ravelli. Over time, the firm has been controlled by different companies and in 2004, it became part of the Piaggio Group (it returned to be controlled by Italian capital), and in 2005, Daniele Bandiera was appointed General Director of Moto Guzzi SpA.
The company has produced more than 50 models since its founding and for years has specialized in the manufacture of 90º V-shaped two-cylinder engines. On rare occasions, their engines were installed in vehicles of other small specialty motorcycle manufacturers such as: Magni, Ghezzi & Brian, Desoto and Mako Shark. At present, it continues its production in the same city of origin.
