Franco Morbidelli was born in Rome, in 1994 and is an Italian motorcycling pilot. He has been champion of the Moto2 World Motorcycle Championship in 2017 and runner-up in MotoGP in 2020, where he currently competes in the premier class for Monster Energy Yamaha.
In 2013 he was crowned European champion in the Superstock 600 championship at the controls of a Kawasaki ZX-6R.
The son of Livio Morbidelli, a former motorcycle racer, he made his debut in the Superstock 600 European Championship in 2011, racing four races aboard a Yamaha YZF-R6 from the Forward Racing Jr. team. In 2012 he finished in sixth place and in 2013 he became European champion with a Kawasaki ZX-6R from the San Carlo Italia team.

In the 2023 season he races with the Monster Energy Moto GP team with his partner Fabio Quartararo.
