Pierre Gasly was born in France in 1996 and is a driver who competed for the AlphaTauri Formula 1 team until the 2022 season.

Gasly has a long history in the lower categories, in which his victory in the 2016 GP2 Series stands out. The achievement of that title made him worthy of reaching Formula 1.

He started karting in 2006 and climbed through its different categories until finishing runner-up in the CIK-FIA European karting competition in 2010.

In 2011 he made the leap to single-seaters. He was third in French Formula 4. In 2012 he moved to the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, which he won in 2013. In 2014 he made the leap to the World Series by Renault, where he finished in second position behind Carlos Sainz.

In 2015 and 2016, he focused his efforts on the GP2 Series while also working as a tester for Red Bull Racing. In his second year, he was proclaimed champion ahead of Antonio Giovinazzi with four victories. In 2017 he moved to the Japanese Super Formula, until Red Bull claimed his services for its subsidiary Toro Rosso in the Malaysian GP.

In the 2023 season he runs in the Alpine Formula 1 team with his partner Esteban Ocon.
