Max Verstappen

Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen was born to be the fastest and comes from a lineage of Formula 1 and Karting drivers.
The son of former Formula 1 driver Jos Verstappen and Belgian kart champion Sophie Kumpen , Max was sure to make a career in motorsport and took his first steps behind the wheel of a kart at the young age of four. At a very young age, Max already fulfilled that promise and in 2013 he won the KF and KZ European Championships. He completed his success in karting when he won the 2013 KZ world championship, it was the sport's highest category.

Max switched to single-seaters in 2014 contesting the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. Against more experienced rivals, he took a staggering 10 wins on his way to third place in the final championship standings the first year.

His exceptional performance was enough to convince Red Bull motorsports advisor Helmut Marko of the young driver's potential and in August 2014, 16-year-old Max joined the Red Bull family to race in Formula 1. 1 under the colors of Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2015 with his teammate Carlos Sainz.

Max made his debut at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix, aged 17 years and 166 days. Two weeks later, he became the youngest driver in Formula 1 with a seventh-place finish at the Malaysian Grand Prix. In his rookie season, Max finished in the points 10 times and amassed 49 points in the championship.

His second season with Red Bull's junior F1 squad got off to a strong start, finishing in the points in his first three races. But his desire to compete for bigger things, across the board, was clear and before the Spanish Grand Prix, Max was recruited for Red Bull Racing F1.

Max's impact was nothing short of spectacular as after qualifying third on Saturday, he went on to drive a flawless race on Sunday to claim his first F1 victory and become the youngest Grand Prix winner in the discipline.

For the remainder of the season, Max put on an electrifying show, reaching the podium seven times and scoring 204 points on his way to fifth in the Formula 1 Drivers' Championship standings.
Over the next two seasons, Max quickly established himself in the top echelon of F1 drivers, winning in Malaysia and Mexico in 2017 and Austria and Mexico in 2018.

During the 2021 season Max was crowned F1 World Champion in a great final battle with Lewis Hamilton.
